After travelling a short distance, however, you’ll reach a flat area covered by an impressive stand-alone tree where seating arrangements have been put in place so that you may rest at this scenic locale.

Itinerary

Day 0 - Departure From Bangalore

You will be departing from Bengaluru by a non-AC pushback seater on Friday from the following pick-up points at various locations in Bangalore. You can choose the one that’s convenient for you:

📍Rajajinagara  : Navrang theatre- opp to Sagar hotel bus stand 07:30 PM

📍Yeshwanthpur : Metro station towards Tumkur 08:00 PM

📍Gorguntepalya : People Tree Hospitals- 08:15 PM

Day 1 - Exploring the Kudremukha Trek - Altitude: 6,214ft | Distance: 22 km

  • On the first day of your adventure, you will reach the homestay early in the morning through an off-road vehicle.
  • After having breakfast, you’ll be collecting your packed lunch and will be heading towards the forest check post by 09:00 AM to start trekking towards the top of Kudremukh Peak, which is around 22 KM both ways surpassing multiple freshwater streams.
  • Ontimara, a significant landmark on the Kudremukh Trek, is often reached after covering a distance of 8 km from the base. The route after the second Ontimara includes a steep 3 km climb and being physically fit is essential to fully appreciate the scenic views.
  • Upon reaching the Kudremukh Peak, you’ll be rewarded with a panoramic vista that encompasses rolling hills, dense forests, and the breathtaking expanse of the Western Ghats.
  • Once you reach the top, all of us can enjoy the relishing view of the serenity the Kudremukh Peak has to offer along with enjoying our sumptuous packed lunch.
  • After reaching the Kudremukh Peak, we will return to the base camp around 06:00 PM. Once you reach the homestay, freshen up and have some high tea. After a while, you can have dinner and retire for the night. Depending on weather conditions, you can also enjoy the bonfire.

Day 2 - A day set for sightseeing and Departure

  • On the second day of your hike to Kudremukh Peak, you will wake up early at around 5:30 am to visit the Somawathi Waterfalls. You can enjoy taking a dip in the cool and refreshing water, surrounded by nature (During the time of high water currents, getting into water shall be prohibited).
  • After returning to the homestay, you can have breakfast and then head down via off-road vehicle to start heading towards Bengaluru.
  • Along the way, you can visit the Samse Tea Estate and Belur Temple.
  • You can have a delicious self-sponsored lunch and enjoy the rest of the day.
  • You will return to Bangalore by approximately 10 PM, with splendid memories to cherish forever.
  • (An Important Note for Kudremukh Trek Participants: Depending on the availability of the forest permits, the trek may take place either on Saturday or Sunday, i.e., a reverse itinerary will be followed which will be communicated to participants in advance. Please be accommodative about the flexibility in scheduling. For a Sunday trek, the pick-up timings will be around 4. 00 am on Saturday morning with a return drop-off by 4.00 am on Monday morning)

What is Kudremukh Trek famous for?

Do I need to carry my luggage all the way during Trekking?
