Day 0 - Departure From Bangalore

Day 1 -Trek to Bandaje Falls - Altitude: 4,895 ft | Distance: 19 km

  • Wake up to an absolutely silent morning, get yourself freshened up, have breakfast along with some fresh hot tea, and get ready for the trek.
  • Depart from Sunkasale and begin your journey, stepping into greenery which is so dense that it might just make you forget about the city.
  • The next stop is the Ballalarayana Durga Fort. It’s old, deserted, and has enough stories to tell.
  • After stopping by the fort, you shall next be proceeding towards Bandaje Falls, where water falls freely like a bungee jump without a rope.
  • Unpack your lunch; eating beside a waterfall makes Puliogare/Pulav taste like a five-star meal.
  • The return journey proceeds towards your homestay. It’s like going back home but with dirtier shoes, lots of pictures, friends, and a lighter heart.
  • Freshen up and gather for high tea. It’s time for chai and pakoras, and getting to know stories of other trekkers in the camp.
  • After some time, have dinner, and retire for the night.

Day 2 - Sightseeing and Return to Bangalore

  • The day begins from the homestay where we start with some refreshment activities in the morning, inclusive of breakfast.
  • This is followed by getting ourselves prepared to depart and head back to Bangalore, marking the end of the trek.
  • On the way back to Bangalore, we take up an opportunity to visit some of the historical sights of Karnataka.
  • The first stop is at the Belur Temple—the masterpiece of Hoysala craftsmanship. It showcases the great skill and creativity in building arts developed during that age of medieval South Indian history and goes a long way toward deepening our understanding of this historical period in the region.
  • Lunch, on the other hand, is self-sponsored; hence, we get the chance to enjoy the different foods available: local cuisines.
  • We aim to arrive back in Bangalore by 10 PM approximately, thus concluding the Bandaje Falls Trek.
